Visiting museums

Upon presentation of a student card when visiting the museum, you can get a free pass or a discount on the ticket.

Medicine

First and emergency medical care is available to foreigners in Russia on a free basis. An important point for the safe stay of foreign citizens in the country is to provide themselves with medical insurance.

Medicine in Russia can be public and private. To receive treatment in public hospitals and polyclinics, including student hospitals, a medical insurance policy is required. In private clinics, treatment is fully paid, but no insurance is required.

Safety

As in any other developed country, it is quite safe to live in Russia.

Just remember always and observe some precautions in public places to stay safe.

In public places and transport, keep an eye on your things, do not keep your bag open.

Do not tell anyone the PIN codes of your bank cards and do not store them in one place.

Cross the road in permitted places — only at traffic lights and pedestrian crossings.

Try to always have your passport, migration card and student ID with you when you go outside the university campus.

If the police ask you to show your documents, don't be surprised. This is ensuring your safety. This measure is aimed at preventing terrorist acts. Russia shows increased attention to the security of its citizens and guests of the country, and successfully fights terrorism.

You can always turn to a police officer for help.
