Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation
The Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation is one of the oldest Russian universities that trains economists, financiers, financial law lawyers, mathematicians, IT specialists, sociologists and political scientists.
The university has gone from an institute, an academy specializing in training specialists in the financial and banking sector, to a large scientific and educational complex.
Currently, the structure of the Financial University includes:
- Educational departments: 8 faculties consisting of: 26 departments, the structure of which is formed by 15 educational and scientific centers, 4 institutes, 7 laboratories, 3 departments, 11 basic departments created jointly with employers, in addition, the educational departments of the university include: 4 educational and scientific departments, 3 university-wide departments, 4 institutes, a military training center and 2 colleges and a lyceum;
- Scientific departments: 14 institutes and centers;
- Departments of additional education: 5 higher schools, 4 institutes and a video laboratory.
The branch network consists of 27 branches, including 13 branches that implement higher education programs; 4 branches that implement higher and secondary vocational education programs; 10 branches that implement secondary vocational education programs, 4 faculties and 58 departments are part of higher education branches.
The Financial University is steadily expanding its presence and increasing its position in the world and national rankings.
The Financial University is included in the top 1000 best universities in the world (801-1000 place QS World University Ranking WUR) and the top 160 best universities in Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the international rating (157 place QS Emerging Europe & Central Asia EECA).
The Financial University is confidently advancing in the QS subject ratings. In the subject area "Social Sciences and Management", the university ranks 398th in the world and 10th in Russia. In narrower subject areas, the University also occupies high positions: "Accounting and Finance" - a place in the range of 251-300 in the world and 3rd place in Russia, "Economics and Econometrics" - a place in the range of 251-300 in the world and 6th place in Russia," Business and Management " - a place in the range of 301-350 in the world and 5th place in Russia. The Financial University is also among the best universities in the world in terms of its impact on the sustainable development of society and involvement in achieving the global sustainable development goals defined by the UN, and ranks 601-800 in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings (THE).
In the process of studying at the Financial University, such "Bologna" forms and methods of teaching are being introduced, such as: the transition from a linear to a modular form of training; working out the principles of an approach to the formation of mobile groups; creating an institute of tutors; lecturing by invited professors and specialists (including foreign ones in English); further development of a rating system for assessing students ' knowledge; development of active forms of training (cases, business and role-playing games, situational tasks, etc.); preparation of electronic textbooks and textbooks, electronic disks, multimedia training programs: "educational enterprise" (accounting), educational laboratory of the Department of Financial Management, "educational insurance company"; formation of electronic libraries at a number of departments; computer testing.
In the 2018/2019 academic year, the Financial University concluded 35 new agreements on cooperation and implementation of academic mobility programs (27 of them with new partners). Among the new partners are Universities included in the world's largest QS World ranking: Songyungwan University, University of Antwerp, Tor Vergat University, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki ; University of Belgrade.
